Build It, But They Won’t Come

“Why is it, then, that marketing is so undervalued? You don’t have to look far. There’s plenty of products that won without great marketers (initially); Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin. These are an anomaly, not the rule. Just like Facebook, they’re one in a  billion. They hit the right market, at the right time, with just the right product, typically with a viral component built in to pick up the marketing slack. For the rest of us, we have to grow our startup the old fashioned way.”

Important Safety Notice

Please, take good care of yourself this holiday season!

A recent joint study conducted by the Department of Health and the Department of Motor Vehicles indicates that 23% of traffic accidents are alcohol related.

This means that the remaining 77% are caused by jerks who drink bottled water, Starbucks, soft drinks, fruit juice, energy drinks, and crap like that.

Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many accidents.

This message was put out there because we care about your safety.

Big brother is watching you

This picture was taken with a camera 70,000 x 30,000 pixels (2100 MegaPixels). It can identify a face in a multitude. The cameras are not sold to the public and are being installed in strategic locations. (This one is in Canada).

Place your cursor anywhere in the multitude of people and left double click a couple times. Wait a moment and It will continue to show the people much closer, when you double left click again or click more if needed. Amazing !

One can get more flexible viewing by using the +/- cursor and the full screen view icon below the +/- control  for an even clearer view of a face.  Cannot count the freckles, but darn near. There were thousands of people and yet they can spot and recognize any face. Imagine what this means…

The Empty Box

The story goes that some time ago, a man was upset with his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Never the less, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.” He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty. He yelled at her, “Don’t you know that when you give someone a present, there’s supposed to be something inside it?”

The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, “Oh, Daddy, it is not empty. I blew kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy.”

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness. It is told that the man kept that gold box by his bed for years and whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there. In a very real sense, each of us as humans have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children, friends, family or God. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.
